Ring-billed Gull Larus delawarensis
March 22nd 2007 Choshi Chiba Japan

This individual was found on
January 19th 2002 at Hasaki (Kamisu), about 3km from here.

The scapular crescent is absent in this shot.

With a Vega Gull.

With a Kamchatka Gull (left).

With a Kamchatka Gull in the background. Compare their eye/bill ratio.

Note the angular head and bulky body of the Ring-billed Gull.

Note that the Ring-billed Gull (left) shows more "large gull-like" overall structural impression.

The mirrors on P9 and 10 are obviously smaller than in most Kamchatka Gulls.
