Presumed hybrid
Black-tailed Gull X Kamtchatka Gull Larus crassirostris ~L.kamtschatschensis
December 24th 2006 Choshi Chiba Japan

Note the finely intermediate appearance between the 2 forms. The face impression created by long, banded-bill and smooth gray-brown smudge on the head recalls Black-tailed gull.

The hybrid gull with a Black-tailed gull. Note the string of black dots on the white tail.

The upperparts seemed obviously darker than Vega Gulls, a little paler than Black-tailed gulls. (Around 8 in Kodak Grayscale?)

In this image, the gray of the hybrid gull looks as dark as that of the black-tailed gull standing next.
