Vega Gull Larus vegae
March 7th 2005 Choshi Chiba Japan
The right bird is a Slaty-backed Gull
A darkish individual. The sleeping bird is a Slaty-backed Gull.
A slimmer bird with thin and sharp streaking on head-neck. Some medium/greater coverts have already been replaced . I felt this bird might be a 'taimyrensis' (-also called a western bird of Vega Gull?), though I could not observe it in detail.
A whitish individual. I feel this might be a mongolicus.
Note the whitish axillary.
