The mantle was slightly darker than average vegae, but was paler than Black-tailed Gulls

Note the yellow legs, old primaries, large red bill spot.

The legs were yellowish.

Note their mantle color and molt-timing. The taimyrensis-type still has old P10-P6. The Vega Gull has old P10-P8.

The P4 has a small black marking.
