The dark smudges on face appear richer compared to a Laughing Gull seen in Tokyo bay September 2002, but I feel it may change even during fall/winter. And some photos taken in Tokyo bay show similar face impression.

with a vegae/taimyrensis intergrade? and a Vega Gull. Note the complete primaries.

When I was scanning Vega Gulls on the seawall, I suddenly found this sleeping Laughing Gull,  at 3 pm.
